University Networking Program will provide Indian universities the benefit of Indian Americans' global experiences in a number of areas both academic and non academic. Under the University Networking Program, Indian American corporations, business leaders, and professors are being invited to engage with Indian universities.

The IAC, to harness the goodwill, capabilities, and networks of Indian Americans, has launched the Universities Networking Program. The idea is to provide Indian universities the benefit of Indian Americans' global experiences in areas such as science and technology, social sciences, humanities, health, business, trade, art and culture, banking, insurance, and law.

Many Indian Americans have expressed their willingness to provide their expertise in or have an association with various universities for lectures, teaching, research, or consultancy. Under the University Networking Program, Indian American corporations, business leaders, and professors are being invited to engage with Indian universities.

The council has communicated with numerous Indian universities and academic institutions to ascertain the type of persons they would like to engage with. A large percentage of Indian universities contacted have responded with great enthusiasm for receiving expertise from accomplished Indian Americans, whether in academic or nonacademic areas. They include the following:

• Biosciences (botany, zoology, biochemistry, biotechnology)
  
• Sociology, political science
  
• Anthropology
  
• Literature and cultural studies
  
• Music and other performing arts
  
• Mobile communications, pervasive computing, bioengineering,
  
• Grid computing, automotive electronics, nano materials, micro systems, electronic packaging
  
• Computation fluid dynamics, sustainable environment, advanced design and manufacturing, biomedical engineering
  
• Microbiology, plant, animal, human biology
