IAC Partner Programs PDF Print E-mail

Partner programs are those that are managed or supported by IAC’s parent organization, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). These programs cover a wide ranging of social issues that need expertise, joint action from government and industry, transparent funding and revised policy approaches.

Through its parent organization, the Indian American Council connects with these programs to create diverse opportunities for members to share their time and expertise. By working directly with the program managers of these initiatives, our members are involved in a structured and sustainable manner.

India Business Trust for HIV / AIDS  http://www.indianbusinesstrust.org/

Indian Business Trust for HIV/ AIDS (IBT) was established in the year 2000 to provide a comprehensive response to the HIV/AIDS threat on behalf of the business sector. It is set up and supported by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), based on the understanding that the virus is not just a medical, but also a major socio-epidemic threat. Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman Tata Sons, heads the Indian Business Trust for HIV/ AIDS. IBT firmly believe that business has a crucial role to play in containing the pandemic and can use the unique expertise, resources and reach at the individual and collective levels to fight HIV. The program acts as a focal point for organizations implementing HIV/AIDS programs, providing leadership and direction, advocating for standardization of practice and policy that can lead to effective coping strategies and creating a network of companies that place people at the centre of their operations.

Where required, IBT helps to provide inputs and technical expertise to companies for the design and development of specialized programmes. This leverages business' unique assets, skills, and networks in the formation of an effective response to the HIV/AIDS crisis. In this process, IBT identifies and disseminates best practices to encourage shared-learning and promote a sense of collaboration as Indian business fights HIV/AIDS.
