Message from the Chairman:

I am often asked by the Diaspora about how to give back to India in an individual capacity. While there is a tremendous knowledge base within the Indian American community, individuals are usually not sure of how to execute their ideas in India. Some want to give time to an existing project but some want to mobilize their own organizations, at their home base. The Indian American Council works to facilitate all those ideas.

IAC members from all over the U.S are getting involved and sharing their expertise with growing initiatives in India. They are delivering lectures at educational institutions, mentoring growing companies, providing research to water conservation projects, setting up sanitation systems in their villages, assisting rural artisans, and several other such endeavors that connect them in a real time, hands on way. They are rolling up their sleeves and getting to work!

The Indian American Council continues to leverage CII’s vast infrastructure in India to identify ways for our members to get involved. It is a organized and sustainable way to contribute to India. Money is not the only form of philanthropy. I encourage you to share something that is of equal value; your time and expertise.
